More details Chris Sullivan, Material Edge Ltd will present an overview of the RFK Bridge, Co. Wexford Ireland which was opened to traffic in January 2020 and included novel use of a Hot Sprayed PMB waterproofing membrane between asphalt layers as a secondary waterproofing system.

The talk will cover; Reasons for the design choices, Asphalt and PMB membrane laboratory testing and information on previous bridges where the system had been installed together with the sprayed membrane material handling, installation challenges and techniques adopted to overcome them.

This record setting iconic structure is breathtaking to look at and the presentation provides a unique insight into an innovative cost effective asphalt based waterproofing system to the concrete deck of an Extrados bridge.
