More details | In an attempt to bring together materials and design, 'Innovative Pavements' will showcase some of the current and forward thinking ideas, concepts and practices available to industry. Dr Alvaro Garcia Hernandez of the University of Nottingham will provide an insight into the future of smart materials for asphalt pavements; with over 10 years' post graduate experience and having worked in some of the leading research establishments across Europe, Alvaro is well placed to share his experiences and research interests, including (but not limited to of course!), development of new materials and structures, automation of construction and maintenance techniques and minimisation of the environmental impact of the pavement. Dr Pejman Dehdezi, pavement and materials engineer of URS will follow by sharing thoughts on how pavements materials and structure can be used effectively to bring about innovation. Pejman has over 7 years' post graduate experience and has been working as a research scientist in the University of Nottingham and SINTEF in Norway. Pejman will also reveal his current research activities and thinking on how pavements can be used as a source of heating and cooling along with how innovative spectroscopy techniques can be used to detect the age hardening of the binder. |
